The culture of affection in Asia

As much as you may have noticed when watching dramas, movies and shows airing  Asia,  their ways of showing physical affection is different than ours. 

In South Korea, these acts are restricted only to extremely intimate people. This is where the 'culture of affection' comes in, the people who are most intimate make a point of having physical contact to demonstrate how close they are. Because Asians are very timid and because the culture is very conservative and sexist, it is rare to see friendships between people of different sexes, because most do not believe it is possible to exist friendship between men and women. Reason why friendships between men is so valued: pure macho concept.

Summing up: Demonstrations by affection with physical contact are a demonstration of great intimacy, so K-Pop groups are always 'rereading' to pass on the image they are close and close friends (which is not always truth).
